I Wonder

I Wonder

Awakened in the night

Quietness beckoned me

As I listened in the open air

I lay upon the porch

Eyes up towards the sky

The stars they twinkled

In innocence and purity

The silhouettes

of trees that shield

All still,

yet so alive.

I sat out in the quiet of night

To see what Heaven revealed.

Prayers came for all to yield

To their First Love

The One that seals

Love upon our heart

With fire

And rescues any

One and all

From the mire

When they call to Him

His heart's desire

In the darkness of the night

It is within

I see the Light.
